Macular rupture treatment
We treat macular rupture – a rupture of all layers in a small area in the centre of the retina, which is responsible for visual acuity, colour vision and the ability to write and read.
For whom?
Patients over 55 years old with a decreased visual acuity, curve of objects, and patients who suffer from high degree of myopia or injured eyes are at the greatest risk.
How can we help you?
Macular ruptures are treated exclusively with surgery. We perform a vitrectomy (removal of the vitreous) and inject gas which will remain in the eye for 2-3 weeks. The gas presses the edges of the tear and helps to close it.
